Natasha Warnock
Trustee Profile
I am so excited to be the trustee for Ward 1 - Thorsby and Warburg (2025-2029)! I am very passionate about public education. My husband was born and raised in Thorsby, in fact his mother also was born and raised in Thorsby also! In 1996 we bought our first home (80 acres) in between Thorsby and Calmar.
In 1998 our daughter started at Thorsby Elementary School in Kindergarten. Following our daughter, our oldest son started Kindergarten in 2001 at Thorsby Elementary, and our youngest son started at Thorsby Elementary in 2004. I served on TEPA (Thorsby Elementary Parent Association) as Vice President from 1998-2010 and enjoyed every minute on the board.
As my kids moved across the street to Thorsby Sr/Jr High School I also followed them there. I served on the Thorsby Band Committee and a few years and on Thorsby Jr/Sr High School Parent Council. Over the years I volunteered in my kids' classrooms to help out where needed. I loved it so much I put my name on the sub list in 2004 at Black Gold Schools.
I subbed for 2 years in all schools at Black Gold. In 2006 I ended a fulltime job as an Educational Assistant in the “Special Needs” classroom, at Leduc Composite High School, from 2006-2013. Then I decided to try Elementary for a change and worked at Willow Park School, in Leduc from 2013-2017.
I waited for one year after West Haven opened in 2016 and applied to West Haven Public School. I worked there with a great team of administrators, teachers, support staff, and custodians from 2017-2024. I retired as an EA in 2024 and made the decision to sub at Thorsby Elementary & Jr/Sr High School, Warburg School, West Haven, Ohpaho, and LCHS. In March 2025 I retired from Subbing in March and put all my time and effort to run for School Trustee - Ward 1.
In 2008 I decided to attend Grant McEwan University in the Special Needs Educational Assistant program, part-time (evening). After 5 years of working full-time, raising 3 young kids, and going to school I am very proud to say I graduated from my program in 2012! Between 2014-2023 I was also the Vice President/President for CUPE 3484 (the Support Staff union). I love every hat I wore and learned a lot over the years. Never stop learning!

Devonna Klaassen, Board Chair
Trustee Profile
I am currently serving my third term as the Ward 2 Trustee with the Black Gold School Division. Since first being elected in 2017, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Trustee, Vice-Chair, and Board Chair. For the past five years, I’ve been honoured to contribute at the provincial level through the Alberta School Boards Association—serving on three committees (one as Chair), as Zone 2/3 Chair, and now as a Director with the Association.
A University of Alberta graduate with a degree in Psychology, my earlier career was as Director of Edmonton’s 211 & Crisis Centre. I am passionate about education, community engagement, and strong governance rooted in integrity, compassion, and collaboration.
A lifelong learner and avid reader, I enjoy exploring research and best practices in education, leadership, and governance, and have completed several certificate courses in leadership and mental health and wellness.
I live in Devon with my husband and two teenagers, where I enjoy spending time outdoors, volunteering with local and provincial swim clubs, and finding balance through family, reading, and the occasional cup of tea between car suppers and extracurriculars.
I am grateful for the continued trust and support of my community and remain dedicated to advocating for quality education that supports the whole child and inspires success for all students.

Angie Charpentier, Board Vice Chair
Trustee Profile
I have been a trustee for the Black Gold School Division for the last four years, a role that affords me valuable insights into educational strategies, board management, and community engagement.
Over the years, I have honed my capabilities in the social work field while managing my responsibilities of being a full-time working mother of three active children.
On a personal note, my oldest child, who was born with Down syndrome, has been my profound inspiration. His resilience and joy have motivated me to set forth a new vision in my work, focusing particularly on inclusivity and support for children with special needs within our education systems.
I am eager to bring my background in social work, coupled with my proactive approach to family and educational engagement.

Trustee Profile
It is a great honour to be re-elected for an incredible sixth time as a trustee for Ward 3. I am proud to be part of a public school division that is all inclusive where children learn and grow together. Diversity is a strength that brings us all together to respect one another.
I grew up in Leduc and attended elementary, junior and senior high school here. After completing high school I started working at the Royal Bank, where I was employed for 13 years. I am married to Arden and we have three grown children and six grandchildren (including two step grandchildren) who also attend the public school system. I enjoy spending family time when conversations flow about their life journeys.
Education is always a table-top discussion in my home, with the sharing opinions and experiences. Yes, sometimes opinions may differ but we still respect one another.
I enjoy gardening, visiting with friends, and spending time at our cabin at the lake.

Trustee Profile
Born and raised in Leduc County on my family farm, I learned the value of hard work, connection, and community – principals that continue to guide me today.
As a former Educational Assistant, I have seen firsthand the dedication of teachers and support staff for the benefit of our students within Black Gold School Division. My time spent in the classroom is where I formed my desire to become a voice for students, families, and teachers.
My past experiences with the Leduc County Recreation Advisory Board and the New Sarepta Minor Hockey Board were an invaluable learning environment that I will lean on in my new role as School Trustee. My passion for our youth goes beyond the classroom, where I have spent nearly 20 years coaching numerous community youth sports teams, from hockey to baseball, soccer, and rugby.
In my pastime, I enjoy playing soccer and rugby, spending time with my family, and travelling with my husband. As School Trustee, my focus will be on collaboration, transparency, and student success. I am committed to supporting educators, engaging families, and helping to inspire success for all students.
