Family School Liaison

Black Gold School Division  Family School Liaisons (FSLs) are mental health professionals who facilitate partnerships between home, school, and community within BGSD schools. 

As a member of the Student Services team, they can: 

  • Collaborate with BGSD staff, and community service providers to enhance the development of the student’s educational and social/emotional experiences. 
  • Advocate for students and bridge connections for families with community agencies, physicians, and medical personnel.
  • Implementation of skill-based and strength-based interventions, which includes the development of social skills, self-regulation, problem-solving, self-confidence, stress/anxiety management, etc.
